Ranching at our present location near Elmdale, Kansas for over 50 years, Mushrush Red Angus began breeding and offering Registered Red Angus cattle private treaty in the mid 80's. Our commercial cows were of Hereford, Angus and Simmental. Our first Red Angus bull brought a consistency to them in color and quality.
Today with both a fall and spring herd, we are able to offer a good selection of ages. In 1999 we had our first production sale jointly with Beckton Red Angus, Sheridan Wyoming, a founding Red Angus herd. Offering genetics from two programs has been an overwhelming success. The annual auction is the 4th Thursday of each March on the ranch in our sale facility which is located near Elmdale Kansas. We offer yearling, 18 month fall born, and 2 year old bulls. 18 month bred heifers and open yearling heifers are also sold.
Consumers are demanding high quality beef and packers are willing to pay a premium for it. Superior carcass quality has always been a goal of Mushrush Red Angus. Our feedlot division has fed thousands of cattle in our ranch feed lot. Seldom can a set of purchased cattle match the feedability and never the quality of our Red Angus influenced calves.
