Commercial Bred Heifers 

2011 Spring Calving Heifers 

The Mushrush commercial bred heifers are solid red with high enough percentage to be considered purebred Red Angus.  We buy these heifers as calves from bull customers that have been using Mushrush and Beckton genetics for many generations.  They are typical of our breeding program - moderate framed, easy fleshing cattle with lots of natural thickness and capacity.  We breed over 400 of these each year .  All heifers have a negative BVD - PI test and will be vaccinated three times prior to breeding with BoviShield Gold FP+VL5™ which includes  Vibrio and Lepto.  All heifers were OCV for brucellosis.  They will be bred to calving ease Mushrush and Beckton bulls for a 65 day calving season starting February 15, 2011 .  We use a lot of bulls so typically the heifers are bred up in the front half of the season.  At preg check the heifers are boosted with ViraShield 6™  and poured with Dectomax.  Their calves will be eligible for the Red Angus Feeder Calf Certification Program.  These heifers typically weigh right around 1000 pounds at preg check in October.
